What Saturn's transit means
Saturn (Shani) stands for discipline, hard work, delay, longevity, service and karma. Its transit tests patience and rewards steady effort.
Saturn spends about two and a half years in each sign and takes about 29.5 years to go round the zodiac. It turns retrograde for about four and a half months every year.
Sade Sati is the seven and a half years Saturn takes to pass through the 12th, 1st and 2nd signs from your Moon sign. Saturn in the 4th or 8th from the Moon is called Dhaiya (small panoti).
