What Jupiter's transit means
Jupiter (Guru or Brihaspati) stands for wisdom, teachers, children, wealth, dharma and good fortune. In a woman's chart it is also read for the husband and marriage.
Jupiter spends about a year in each sign and goes round the zodiac in about 12 years. It turns retrograde for about four months every year.
Jupiter's transit is watched closely for marriage timing. While Guru is asta (combust), weddings and other major muhurats are usually not fixed.
